StageSong - FALL SEMESTER, GRADES 2-5--A stage performance introduction, Music Portable P-B (Dunn). Wednesdays, 2:45--4:00 p.m., September 10 through October 29, with a dress rehearsal (5:30 p.m.) and short performance (7:00--7:30 p.m.) on Nov. 4, a Tuesday night. Original music and arrangements by Casis music instructor Kevin Dunn are used to create a holiday show in which young performers are taught stage manners, diction, expression, vocal strength, and timing. A colorful t-shirt costume (included in the tuition) is an original screen print which relates to the show's theme. Other costume requirements are minimal (black pants, sweats, or jeans). Students must be able to attend regularly and be present at the dress rehearsal, in order to perform with the group. Announcements and enrollment forms are available in music classes and in Friday folders.

Mad Science® - Mad Science is an after-school program which encourages scientific literacy in children in an age when science is as vital as reading, writing and arithmetic. It's mission is to spark the imagination and curiosity of children by providing them with fun, interactive and educational programs that instill a clear understanding of what science is really about and how it affects their world. To find out more about this program offered at Casis, please visit their website at www.madscience.com.

A recital, complete with spotlight, stage and microphone is the culminating activity.

Theatre Enrichment - Theatre Enrichment is an after school program that will teach students the various performance elements of theatre, enriching their academic learning. Each semester will have a different emphasis, and students will have a chance to participate in the production process as well as perform on stage using the Theatre Arts Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills for K – 5th grades. Through perceptual studies, students will increase their understanding of self and others and develop clear ideas about the world. Through a variety of theatrical experiences, students will communicate in a dramatic form, make artistic choices, solve problems, build positive self-concepts, and relate interpersonally. We will be learning Theatrical Warm-Ups & Games, Acting & Voice Building, as well as Movement & Dance. If you have any questions, please contact Annie Dragoo at 297-9015.
